B.B. Dakota was founded in 1986, in Laguna Beach, California by Gloria Brandes, a Canadian fashion designer from Montreal. She married an American in 1984 and followed her new husband to southern California. Brandes brought her unique French sensibility to the clothes that she created which set B.B. Dakota apart from the mainstream of Orange County surf and skate lines. The brand has been an insider’s secret for many years with many devoted fans lining up outside the original store in Laguna Beach, which was a mission style 1930’s era post office, for a chance to buy the clothes. In 2005 the secret was out as many fashion editors began to publicize this small exclusive brand in editorials in national magazines.

Artist and designer Angela Buxbaum draws inspiration from nature, opera, expressionist paintings and poetry. The collection is constantly evolving and changing with the seasons.  Her paintings can also be found in collections from Paris, France to Austraila and there are over 200 paintings hanging in happy homes and restaurants in the Atlanta area.  Her jewelry and paintings have been featured in LUCKY Magazine, WWD Atlanta, Creative Loafing Atlanta, Atlanta Journal/Constitution and Atlanta Homes Magazine.

Photographer, DJ and design consultant Chris Buxbaum takes all the high quality images you have seen and manages our website.  He takes care of the financial side of the business,helps with jewelry construction and tries to keep Angela sane.

Growing up in a family of artists, designers and fashionistas, it was no surprise that Danielle began to design at an early age. With a strong sense of fashion and color, and a love of working with her hands, it was no shock when one afternoon, she brought home a bag filled with beads from a local bead shop to make holiday gifts for her family and friends. No sooner than the bag was empty was Danielle back in the store, to work on new color palettes and experiment with the different shapes and textures of each stone.

Exploring the world for only the finest of stones and crystals, she designed many precious pieces for her closet pals. Word began to spread and with loving support from family and friends, Danielle Stevens Jewelry was born in 2002. Before Danielle knew it, her passion for fashion and working with jewelry and the arts had grown into a company offering marvelous pieces in many boutique and department store jewelry cases and windows.

With inspiration from the colors and textures of nature’s most spectacular creations, Danielle Stevens offers the finest in unique jewelry designed specifically for women of every age. The most magnificent semi-precious stones and crystals, intertwined with gold and silver, give off the perfect look, enhancing a woman’s inner and outer beauty, every time she puts on a Danielle Stevens’ creation.

Danielle Stevens has been featured in countless magazines, and her jewelry has graced the cover of several leading fashion publications. Danielle currently resides in New York City.

Designers Rona Bennett and Lan Chung combined their distinct personal styles and their undeniable love of fashion and vacation to create Fighting Eel. Born in the summer of 2003, this clothing company had its beginnings in the land of perpetual sunshine, Hawaii. Fighting Eel’s line is a blend of sexy and simple. Hudson Clothing is an LA based denim and clothing brand, most famously known for outstanding style and universally slimming fits. Hudson always looks to dress for comfort, but makes fit and fashion top priority.

Hudson helped usher in the era of worn, faded, whiskered jeans. As the broken-in look came into fashion, it was Hudson that developed the idea of pre-stressed jeans. The idea was to replicate the look of favorite jeans that have been worn and broken in over the course of months or even years, making them both sexier and more comfortable.

Hudson jeans are available in boot cut and low rise styles. Both styles feature Hudson's signature V-shaped, button shut back pocket. Born on the Upper East Side, Danielle watched on as her mother designed a clothing line of her own. The first four years of her life were spent beside her mother at her cutting table. Danielle graduated from Northwestern where she studied journalism and film. With no formal training except what her mother taught her and a keen eye for fashion, Danielle launched the Prairie New York collection in 2003. Danielle is happily married with a handsome 3 year old son named Sam.

The Los Angeles manufactured line was started as a shoe collection by Peter and Jennifer Kane back in 1998 and eventually evolved into the luxurious and chic clothing line that it is today. Sky brand clothing made a name for themselves when they opened a store on trendy street Robertson. Stars are often photographed wearing Sky tops and shopping at their location in Beverly Hills, CA. The inspiration for the brand is quite simple: they just design what they like! Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, and Ashanti have all been caught strutting their stuff in these stylish designs. Sky tops run true to size.

Lindsay Phillips – you can call her Lulu, we do! – is the energetic inspiration and founding force behind switchflops. switchflops evolved out of one of Lindsay’s high school art projects. The ceramic sandals with straps adorned with various Florida fare attracted attention from all who saw them. Everyone wanted to know where to buy a pair, and was disappointed to learn that the shoes were not functional.

Lindsay began designing flip flops with different fun straps and came upon the idea of using Velcro to allow different straps to be placed on the same sandal. She spent her college years perfecting her patented design concept of an interchangeable strap for flip flops, which is revolutionizing the fashion footwear industry. Lindsay honed her design, merchandising, and manufacturing skills working summers at Polo Ralph Lauren’s leather goods division in New York City while starting her own business.

The business and design prodigy founded her company, Lulu Design, Inc., in 2004. switchflops made its retail debut in January, 2007 at the Surf Expo Trade show in Orlando, Florida where it was showcased as a new and innovative product. Her mother, Liz, joined forces with Lindsay to help manage the rapid growth of the company. This dynamic duo continues to guide Lulu Design, Inc. and remains devoted to introducing new concepts in fashion design.

The Tricia Fix collection is a fusion of feminine fabrics, unique trims and sexy silhouettes. Launched in 2005, the collection quickly grew a loyal customer bas around the world.

Tricia Fix is a Florida native and has been designing for over ten years. Starting with an accessories line and then opening her own boutiques selling her one of a kind styles. Finding her niche, she decided to share her collection with stores around the world. The goal Tricia Fix has kept in mind for her latest undertaking is maintaining a balance between a high-end red carpet look and an affordable piece that offers comfort and security for every woman. “Seeing everything come together is the true gift of the designer,” Fix says.

The line has many celebrity fans, such as Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria and Jamie-Lynn Siegler. Tricia Fix has also been featured in the pages of People, Life & Style, US Weekly, Allure, Lucky and Ocean Drive. The collection is available in upscale boutiques throughout the U.S.

Whitley, the newest line under the Johnny Was umbrella, is created by designer Christy Whitley. It’s first collection was launched in Spring 2008. Whitley is inspired by vintage prints and ethnic influences. It has a young and flirty style that is embellished with embroideries, brocade ribbons, beads, and off beat screen printing. Almost anything goes to create the melting-pot style that makes this line so unique. “ I wanted to create a dress line that is sexy, sophisticated, with a zany beat that makes it irresistable, and fun to wear."
